Businesses and consumers alike are increasingly turning to recyclable and sustainable packaging materials.
A British multinational groceries and general merchandise retailer Tesco can serve as a great example of this process. In 700 Tesco stores, completely recyclable aluminium cans of water produced by environmentally-conscious drinks company CanO Water can now be bought.

Aluminium is one of the most environmentally-friendly materials. It is known to be cost and energy effective. Apart from that, this metal has a high recycling rate - 75% of all the aluminium that has ever been made is still being used somewhere, according to Recycle Now.

"Aluminium cans have the highest recycling rate of any product out there and a recycled can could be back on the shelf as another one in just 60 days," Ariel Booker, co-founder of CanO Water, said in a statement.

"In future, I hope sustainable food shopping includes all categories, and every food and drink aisle," he told HuffPost UK. "Until then, we have to start with the small, disposable products we buy everyday - that includes the humble bottle of water".

Explaining the inspiration behind the brand's concept, Josh White, one of the Co-founders, said: "You might be reading at your desk, or on the train, sipping from a bottle of water – and I'm guessing the problem of plastic pollution is a million miles away from your thoughts. But catch a plane to Thailand, take a canoe to some of the country's small remote islands, and like Ariel, you'll see the impact eight million tonnes of plastic has on the ocean."

CanO Water was created in response to the damaging impact that plastic bottles have on the environment, after their trip to a bottle-strewn beach in Thailand opened the eyes of three London entrepreneurs. CanO Water is an infinitely recyclable alternative to plastic bottles.

Cans stay colder for longer, keeping the water cool and fresh. They go from the recycling bin to store shelves within 60 days. The average aluminium can is made from 68% total recycled content and that is why is treated as a solution to plastic pollution.

These cans are resealable and it is easy to save water for later. Apart from that, they can be refilled.

CanO Water source the finest Spring Water to fill the cans. With a high pH Level of 7.9 and increased alkaline concentrations & minerals from the Austrian Alps, it ensures an unrivalled freshness and taste.

Josh White highlighted: "We don't just see CanO Water as a product on the shelves, it could change everything. By 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish – and we're aiming to change that. We take risks because we want to build a brand, that can help us be a part of something better."

CanO Water is now being stored at Tesco, Selfridges, Whole Foods market and other wide grocery chains.
